Social Media 101: People are Lazy! Use Hyperlinks or they won’t Click!

By Ethan Lanagan On April 21, 2010 Under Internet Network Marketing, Prospecting And Marketing, featured

First off sorry for the video quality.  I was going to redo it and then I thought to myself I am not a professional camera man and I don’t want any of you to think that you need to be to be successful in our industry!  So you get it how it is.  :)

Anyway super basic Social Media tip to use on Facebook, Twitter and other places.

When it comes to Social Media I go off the basic philosophy that people are LAZY and they have major Social Media A. D. D.  So we need to make it as simple as possible and easy for them to get to your websites!

So use Hyperlinks!  What is a Hyperlink?  Well notice how the first time I wrote hyperlink it was regular text and the second was underlined and an actual link???  That is a Hyperlink!

The simplest way to do this is to make sure to always include HTTP:// before your website address.  You do not need to use WWW.  It will not create a hyperlink.

For example if you post www.EthanLanagan.com on Facebook will not create a link in messages or many places.  And EthanLanagan.com certainly won’t.  But http://EthanLanagan.com will in most places!  So do it!

The key is because most people are Lazy… You can not be Lazy!

I hope this helps and if it does leave a comment and let me know whats working for you in the Social Media world???

As always if you like it be sure to hit the Share button’s on Twitter and Facebook!

Talk to you all soon,

Ethan

It’s simple but there are so many people that don’t this. And it’s with a lot of things besides links as well. The easier it is for people do what you want them to, the more of a response you get. If your selling something, make it an easy process to buy it.

Think about the one click buy button on Amazon. That makes it extremely easy to buy something there. Not only that it encourages spontaneous buying (guilty as charged).

They wouldn’t get quite as good of a response if it was a pain in the rear to checkout.

Keep it simple. Excellent post Ethan! Got me all excited lol.
