Great point Ethan! No amount of internet strategies will ever replace building a relationship. People that do this stand out from the crowd big time. I am amazed about how many friend requests I get with no message and then I am just spammed all kinds of stuff. They have never spoken with me or made any effort to let me know who they are and what they are about. We have to slow down to speed up and building real relationships is the most important thing any of us do for our business long-term.
Stop Sending Facebook Messages and Pick Up the Damn Phone!
WATCH the Video above or read below for more insight!
Ok everyone I am so excited right now to give you this huge tip! I recently connected with a successful Network Marketer from another company that I met online through some of his marketing efforts and we connected on Facebook. I sent him a message and he said he would love to speak sometime. So I sent him my number after his request. And HE ACTUALLY CALLED ME! Amazing I know. I swear its crazy to me when people get someone’s number off Facebook, Twitter, some form of Social Media or even an opt in lead off their landing pages to either connect to build a relationship or recruit them and they DON’T CALL! Its amazing to me!
So I am hear to tell you to get off Facebook and get on the damn phone ASAP! It is not revolutionary concept but so many people are missing the boat on this. You can send Facebook messages until you are blue in the face but the reality is next level relationships need to be moved to real time conversations and the easiest way to do that is a phone call! So get their numbers and call them. I will tell you what if someone asks for my number and then doesn’t call me, they are automatically off my list of anyone I would put time into building a business with. So follow through. Get off Facebook and pick up the phone! It is a heck of a lot easier to build relationships once you take it to a more intimate level of a phone call or in person meeting and it is certainly a lot easier to close someone to your business once you give them some personal time on the phone and contact them!
So Right NOW tell me in a comment what you think of the phone? And why people would rather send 100 Facebook messages instead of making one phone call? Reminds me of a post I did on Activity Vs. Productivity. Funny how the simple things make all the difference!

Great feedback Gabriel! It is all about relationships and the fastest way to build them is getting on the phone with someone!

I was actually just thinking about this the other day. I’m not the greatest on the phone but I could be, just for this very reason.
Awhile back I connected with someone on Twitter and they sent me a link to this video. I can’t remember exactly what their response was but it made curious enough to click it. Long story short, it was a video that introduced themselves and whatnot. It was pretty cool actually and I was impressed.
Bad thing was that was the last I heard of them. I even wrote them back telling them that was a cool idea and it got my attention, good job! But that was it, still haven’t heard a peep from them. That was months ago.
So it’s similar to this. It’s not hard to make you or your business stand out amongst the crowd. You can pick something that has already been around for years but isn’t being used as much (or effectively). Do something that is personal like this and you’ll be leaps and bounds ahead of the pack!
Great post Ethan!

Thanks for the great feedback Chris. Its amazing how much effort people put into doing this that result in people wanting to know more but they don’t pick up the phone and follow up!
